They're not tech-savvy. Will they manage?+
Absolutely. We send them a simple one-page guide beforehand, and all they need to do is click a link. We handle everything else. Many of our storytellers are in their 70s and 80s and have no trouble at all.
How long does the interview take?+
The full interview is split across several relaxed sessions of 30 to 60 minutes each. Short enough that it never feels like a chore. Most people say it flew by.
What if their life "isn't interesting enough"?+
This is the most common worry — and it's never true. Everyone's life is full of moments worth preserving. The questions are designed to unlock stories they've forgotten they had. Every single session has produced something beautiful.
How is the memoir written?+
Your loved one sits down for a relaxed conversation with a real person over Zoom. We ask thoughtful questions about their life, listen carefully to their stories, and use the recording to craft a beautifully written memoir in their own words. Every chapter is personally reviewed and edited before it reaches you.
What happens to the recordings?+
The audio recordings belong to you and your family. We use them solely to produce the memoir and they are not stored, shared, or used for any other purpose. You receive a copy of the audio as part of your package.
Can I buy it as a gift without them knowing?+
Yes — many of our customers buy Heirloom as a surprise gift. You purchase it, we coordinate with you on timing, and then we reach out to your loved one to schedule the session. It's a wonderful surprise.
